This is an independent guide published by Signup Here. We are not AvaTrade, we are not affiliated with or acting on behalf of AvaTrade, and we never ask you for passwords, payment details or identity documents.
Registration happens entirely on AvaTrade's own website, avatrade.com (opens in a new tab), or in its app, not here. The form itself takes a few minutes. Afterwards AvaTrade asks for documents to verify your identity and your address, which it says its regulators require; the documents are checked by AvaTrade.1,3
What you need
- An email address you can access right away
- A mobile phone number
- A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, national ID card or driving licence, as a coloured copy that shows your name, picture, date of birth and expiry date; for an ID card or driving licence both sides are needed1
- A recent proof of address, such as a bank statement or a utility bill, not older than six months; letters, receipts, tenancy contracts, screenshots and documents with a PO box address are not accepted1
Step by step
- Open avatrade.com or the AvaTrade app and choose the option to create an account.
- Enter your details. AvaTrade asks for your name, email address, phone number and a password; enter them exactly as they appear on your ID.
- Confirm your email address and phone number. AvaTrade sends a confirmation link by email and a code by text message; both are needed to activate the login.
- Complete your profile. AvaTrade asks a short set of questions about you; they are required before the account can be fully used. Clients in Europe are also asked for their Taxpayer Identification Number during verification.1
- Verify your identity and address. Upload the ID document and the proof of address in the account area of the website or in the app. Save them in a common file format and use only letters and numbers in the file name, otherwise the upload is rejected.2,3
- Wait for the check. According to AvaTrade's help centre, documents are processed within one business day (Saturdays and Sundays are not business days); you can follow the progress under your account verification status.2
- Done. AvaTrade notifies you whether the documents were approved; once they are, the account is fully active.3
Verification is carried out by AvaTrade. If a document is not accepted, AvaTrade tells you what to send instead. The exact steps and the information requested can differ from country to country; follow the instructions AvaTrade shows you during registration.
Good to know
- Use your real name exactly as it appears on your ID; mismatches are the most common reason for delays.
- Keep the confirmation email; it contains the link to activate your login.
- Have the ID document and a recent proof of address ready as photos or scans before you start; the check cannot begin without them.
- If you have questions about your account, contact AvaTrade's customer service directly through avatrade.com.
